WHALE HOUSE

This holiday home, situated at the end of a cul de sac, with a  nature reserve on two sides, overlooks the beach and has views of the dramatic Hermanus mountains behind. With the main living areas facing the sea to the south, north light was introduced through glazed gable roofs. The bedrooms at the back enjoy privacy and quiet. The scale of the roof was limited by forming three smaller pitched roofs. The interiors are pared down and relaxed with natural, simple materials providing the perfect backdrop for the owner’s art collection.
